Expected Role: Reserve Infielder

Now that I’ve fallen behind again…

Saved the two backup infielders for last here. Ramon Santiago, of course, is a decent backup who doesn’t do anything great but also doesn’t do anything poorly. He can spell Jhonny Peralta or whoever is at second if they need a day off, and he won’t be a huge black hole offensively or defensively either way. He is not, however, a starter, though many called for him when Adam Everett couldn’t hit last year. He is far better as a part time player. Expecting anything more from him is too much. Great first guy off the bench to have around, though.

Tomorrow: Don Kelly
